Sheryl-An embroidered Minaudière
This class is a wonderful opportunity for students to stitch a minaudière style evening purse. The design was inspired by the geometric elements present in the Viennese Secessionist school of art and design that featured Gustav Klimnt and other artists. The purse is stitched using Japan Gold, Soie d’alger, and bugle beads on a cream silk taffeta background. Stitches include gold couching, raised satin stitch, stem stitch, French knots and both whipped and Hungarian braided chain stitch. There is some room for students to choose their own stitches within the design.
